blobo: Haven't heard everything by Palmer, so if u have ideas of his "original" performances, please tell me. If Palmer's so much more original/faster than Peart, what use is that if Palmer can't maintain a steady tempo? I mean, how can you overlook something so basic as tempo? It's a big part of a drummer's job.I'm a bassist, and I'm sure many other musicians out there will agree with me that nothing is more irritating than a drummer who can't keep steady time. There's your lesson in logic.

i seriously think that you need a lesson in logic and argument.youve mixed up the seperate arguments of palmer/peart comparison and quantizing.fYOURi,,,I did NOT say that Peart needed quantization, more that its common in recent recordings. whether he does so or not i do not know, nor do i care.the comparison between palmer and peart was not about timekeeping, more that palmer's drum parts were more original and MUCH faster and complex than anything peart has played. |
