Sony SNC Series Network Surveillance Cameras : DigInfo
http://movie.diginfo.tv DigInfo NewsThe SNC series network surveillance cameras, to be released by Sony between june and september 2008, feature a 1.25 megapixel CCD and output a resolution four times that of the previous VGA type cameras."The monitoring system can output images at 1.25 megapixels on a (charge coupled device) CCD image sensor in a 1280x960 high resolution format."The system comes equipped with the solid PTZ feature, allowing users to crop and zoom in on areas of interest, this can be combined with an activity detection system which not only detects movement from left to right but can also focus on a car when it detects the alarm has gone off."The system can be set up to at the entrance of financial institutions and stores to monitor the faces of visitors and customers in a higher resolution or it can even capture same resolution images in a more wide angle shot. Thus it can also be set up to monitor a wide area such as at the parking lot and parks to reduce the number of cameras that need to be set up."To improve low light sensitivity, the Light Funnel feature uses multiple virtual CCD elements and treats them as one, increasing low light illumination by approximately four times."Here at Sony, we are looking into expanding our product to develop cameras that can capture images at a higher resolution."The SNC-CM120, SNC-DM110 and SMC-DM160 will cost between 150,000 and 200,000 yen.
