he denied Jesus first of all because It was apart of prophesy from Jesus. He also ran out of adrenaline...he followed behind them as they were taking jesus away and I think as he saw his master being beaten and treated badly it made him lose some of his faith and he began to fear for his life, that is why he denied jesus, b/c of doubt. again...
